VEHICLE NOISE

Vehicle noise

The development of transportation infrastructures and the increased number of vehicles on the roads have led to the need for regulations to limit emissions of pollutants. In many countries, noise emissions from motor vehicles are the primary cause of disturbance faced by neighbouring residents. Such pollution can cause health concerns, including issues such as irritability, insomnia and depression.

Although automotive manufacturers are making considerable efforts to reduce noise emissions at source, it is still essential to monitor the noise levels generated by motor vehicles. Motor vehicles are subject to national regulations imposing limits on noise emissions from the exhaust. In order to check a vehicle’s compliance with original exhaust acoustic parameters (duly approved), measurements are carried out during regular roadworthiness tests or periodic initiatives by the police force.

The 01dB range includes the FUSION sound level meter with an external tachometer, designed for vehicle inspection bench operators and police forces. It is easy to use and features visual display screens providing everything the user needs to know in order to comply with applicable measurement standards.
